The Hidden Sloth: DeepNexus

After losing what might have been all of our data for the third time in the life of the fileserver, it was deemed essential to build a better backup plan for our storage systems. To this end, we developed the DeepNexus, a computer which is only turned on when information is ready to be backed up.

Currently, the actual DeepNexus computer system is not home to much hard drive space, so it only protects a small subsection of the data we prize. It is used primarily for picture backups and project file backups. Other data is stored on the DeepNexus extension, currently titled "ReRAID," which is a 4TB JBOD based on the Mediasonic ProRaid HUR5-SU3 platform.

The DeepNexus runs on:

Fong-Kai 320BK
Asus A7V333
AMD AthlonXP 2100+
x.x RAM
x.x Video Card

HDD4: Western Digital 300GB PATA
HDD5: Western Digital 300GB PATA
